| I was born and raised in Cape Town I 1986, and am still a proud resident of our beautiful city. I became interesting in photography during my early teens and jumped at the chance to take it as an art major during my final years at high school. At which point it quickly crossed over from being a mere interest into a passion. After high school and a bi of travelling I joined a full time professional photography course at City Vasity School of Media arts, Cape Town campus, graduating at the end of 2007. What I strive for within my photography is to be visually creative and enjoy testing boundaries between what is perceived as ordinary as apposed to beautiful with the taking of an image. Within the many different approaches to image making, I have a tendency towards setting up the image rather than purely documenting it and therefore, have found great enjoyment out of working in the studio and in a world that is turning increasingly digital, I still hold great affinity towards the old possesses of film and darkroom. Looking ahead I am hoping to gain more experience in all the avenues of photography I am attracted too and carry my love for photography into a long lasting professional capacity. |
